Stuben am Arlberg, Austria

Or how about the long days of Andorra, the snow and service of Canada or the USA, the scenery of Switzerland or the powder of northern Japan - we cover all the major areas. And we have also skied them – when you see © ineedsnow.com on an image it means we have skied that resort. Use our resort search or browse the countries to find your ideal ski holiday resort.

The lifts on the Stubai Glacier, Hintertux Glacier, Otztal Glacier and the Pitztal Glacier all start rolling from October onwards. High altitude skiing in France includes Chamonix, Les Deux Alpes, Alpe d'Huez and Val d'Isere / Tignes. In Switzerland opt for Zermatt or Saas Fee.

FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

Family ski holidays

La Tania is one of the best family ski holiday resorts in the Alps. The kids ski area is at the centre of the resort and the runs above La Tania are gentle and tree-lined. Serfaus in Austria offers great kids programs and a family friendly resort with an underground resort railway and numerous family hotels. The Stubai Glacier also has an excellent kids ski program.

SKI WEEKENDS

ski holiday weekends

Short transfers are key for ski weekends, ensuring the greatest amount of time is spent on the slopes or in the resort. Morzine has an excellent short transfer and impressive resort in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski region. Seefeld is great for families, whilst Innsbruck has its own airport, endless entertainment / amenities and ski areas on every side.

GROUP SKI HOLIDAYS

group ski holidays

Zermatt is one the biggest corporate group destinations, whilst Zurs am Arlberg is ski-in, ski-out, with impressive hotels. Soll or Mayrhofen offer some of the best stag and hen breaks, whilst Alpe d'Huez or Les Deux Alpes are excellent venues for pre-nuptial madness. For a great mix Chamonix, Val d'Isere or St Anton offer serious alpinism and partying.

STUBEN SNOW REPORT - APRIL PERFECTION

Snow report from Stuben in April 09 - absolute perfection!

APRES SKI HOLIDAYS

apres ski holidays

Austria is the undisputed king of après ski with Solden arguably the best. Ischgl, St Anton and Mayrhofen are close behind. In France go for Val d'Isere, Morzine or Meribel, whilst Pas de la Casa, Sauze d'Oulx and Whistler can guarantee that you'll never see the queue for the first gondola. Prices vary: Austria and Andorra offers broadly good value, France less so.

SECRET SPOTS: BRAGGING RIGHTS

secret ski spots

There is little better than having one up on a skiing or snowboarding acquaintance. Resorts that offer you ‘bragging rights’ are Stuben am Arlberg, Austria, a ski resort which accesses the St Anton ski area and has above it the best off-piste in Austria. Sainte Foy, France is the place to head when it snows in Val d'Isere. Serfaus is almost unknown yet outstanding.
