I lost a film camera today but also skied past the roof of what in summer is a house – sometimes life evens things out pretty quickly. There aren’t many areas that get the snow Stuben am Arlberg gets anywhere, whilst for off-piste skiers and snowboarders Stuben has to be top of the list.

Stuben am Arlberg was superb Tuesday, it really has to be one of the top powder destinations in the world. The guides and the locals are about as good as you will find. The snow accumulation you just don’t see anywhere else in Europe and is easily comparable with what I skied in Hokkaido, Japan last year – truly amazing. You’d be right to think I am one of its bigger fans, the place should be very high on any skiers or snowboarders list.

Yes I am lucky, I have to admit that skiing and photography are 2 very big passions of mine. The crazy thing is that to get a day like Tuesday is not a rarity in Stuben, the place gets more snow than you can imagine and is off the radar of most wanting to take a ski holiday in Austria or the Arlberg. For any off-piste skier or boarder than I repeat, Stuben has to be about as good as you can get anywhere – I have skied in many top places and lived in British Columbia but I have rarely seen this much snow and each and every time I visit Stuben, it is just incredible.
