Sad day certainly but the redevelopment of the centre of St Anton am Arlberg along with the Galzigbahn is pretty special. There is always the debate over development and my local hill in Innsbruck has a new gondola after years of being a ski route. I was sad but happy for those who had access to the superb views and terrain heading out of Axamer Lizum. Sad for me as I was promised the chance to get hold of one of the gondolas - heard nothing more which was disappointing. Hope you get on the slopes next year in St Anton and make sure you keep a look out for avalanches!

So now the infamous "Rendl Club" can no longer accept new members. Not being a member myself yet, I had planned to join sometime in the future, along with my wife, on our next trip to St Anton, but alas... I only know of one member, some know him as "Shooter McGavin". Any other "Rendl Club" members out there willing to come forward?

A sad day in the history of St Anton. Had my best ever powder day on Rendl, and actually watched it avalanche over skiers (some actually on piste!!) later that day as we came up on the bottom chair. No one died.

Hey Mark, thanks for the feedback and great to hear that we are skiing powder in the northern and southern hemispheres. I spent some time down in NZ and would have done more skiing but for the speights :)

Hi Ross, thanks for your comments. I would check to see what is open as the skiing in Canada doesn't always start this early. Whistler (the biggest in BC) will not open until November. It would be tough to fly all the way over to Canada to find nothing open, especially when the glacier skiing in Austria is so good right now.

Yes I would love another skigloo but it was a huge amount of work and if I am honest there is a 1% chance of it happening.

I was actually asking myself a couple of days ago whether there would be a skigloo again this winter season. I really enjoyed the times working on it and then there was of course the famous opening party with the great romance corner that didn't really work. The best thing for this year would be to get some cheap labor to help build it and also build it a little bit different. Let me call my dad to see if he can help with the cheap labor issue. Or does Hitech Export provide skIgloo building services?
