The Fischer skis are heading to Glasgow

After completing a review on ineedsnow.com, Bob Steel of Bespoke Finance has been drawn as the winner of the excellent Fischer skis prize. Austria makes skiers and it makes skis – Fischer are some of the very best on the market. If Mrs Steel is reading this then please stop here.
Bob intends to offer the skis to his wife but did not confirm whether this was to be in the form of a present or a passed on prize. Maybe Bob can confirm?
…..and the Tirol goodies are heading to the north of England to M. Irving, as they were drawn 3rd.
Wife knows they’re a prize. Using them as bate for a boys week in St Anton next year

Bob, I could learn a great deal from you it seems, I have been angling for a guys ski trip for years without success. I did build the skigloo though this winter – this is a bit of a hangout and my wife can’t really be bothered trying to get to it – that is the best I have managed so far

As Matts brother we should all be made aware that he should not be pittied too much. If the family records are correct he had a boys week that lasted approx 17 months in a small resort called Whistler …located somewhere west of Calgary.
If anyone remembers a guy wearing …no kidding folks…a matching skin tight blue Mountain Equipment Co Op(great outdoor gear )fleece top and bottoms for the whole of his tenure rest assured his dress sense has now embraced cotton and flannel when off the slopes! The guys he lived with dubbed it his fleece suit. I met a coupe of these guys and they were not too far behind in the style or lack of stakes. I guess that is the small price you pay for a couple of seasons in the land of ‘toonies’ and ‘loonies’. Does anyone have exerience of the Boot Bar just outside Whistler town limits ?….I do but I am also married so I wont eleborate/incriminate.
Congrats to Bob…my 175cm Fischers ( forgot the model) have out performed 4 consecutive pairs of Atomics .I truly love them.
Hey Ben, it seems you have excluded one impressive variation of the blue fleece theme, the combo that involved the tight fitting Polartec 300 Mountain Equipment Co-Op pants together with the MEC down jacket. Whilst they were both a navy blue items, the pants actually reduced leg volume due to their incredible tight / race fit, whilst the jacket added around a metre in each direction. The resulting outfit offered a shape not dissimilar to a Chupa Chup – little wonder there wee so many lonely evenings during that winter
I have been skiing GS9 Atomics for the last few seasons on-piste whilst my off-piste ski is the Kneisl Tanker and there handling is not dissimilar to an ocean vessel. Straight lining they are beasts but get them in trees then you have to ski with a guard not unlike a boxers defence – they do not respond well to turning commands and branches (or worse) are a continual problem. The Atomic GS9s are superb on hard packed pistes but in powder they are a shocker, it is like trying to hold roofing ladders horizontal from a grip 30 cm from the end. What I need is something to fill the middle ground and I am certainly going to talk to Fischer over the summer to try and get hold of some all mountain skis. If you are reading this Daniel of Fischer skis, be warned I will calling you later in the summer in this regard
