Leuchtturm – the best après ski around Innsbruck? Paris seems to think so.

Only open since last winter the Leuchtturm (light house) après ski bar at the Gotzens base station above Innsbruck is rapidly becoming one of the best après ski venues in the Innsbruck ski region. The regular events year round make for some great nights and the mix of locals and visitors can create a really great atmosphere. Over the weekend there was a ‘Bag Jump’ organised with local pro riders from Innsbruck, DJs, live music and an outdoor bar. Unfortunately the Bag Jump had to be canceled due to high winds and heavy sleet which made the landing bad dangerously slippery. That did not stop the festivities though, with Paris Hilton living up to her flirtatious reputation, spending most of the night being passed around the guys. The Bag Jump has been rescheduled for the 30th December at 19:00, with Paris expected to keep many visitors company again.

It was indeed a very eventful evening and paris really seemed to confuse many guys at the Leuchtturm. Unfortunately I was not an exception and still being confused by her appearance I slipt on the way home and tore a ligament in my ankle. The first doctor I saw reckoned that I would be off skis for 6 weeks. This was definitely not an option for me so I visited a real specialist today whom I was able to convince that 1 week is enough. Thats the good thing about ski boots, they are a natural cast in a way. I will definitely wear my ski boots to the event on the 30th in case Paris will confuse me again.

Yes indeed shocking and sad news, weatherman flo sustained an après ski injury that was set to keep him off skis for 6 weeks. The second opinion has reduced that to just 1 week, on the proviso that he uses a pair of Salomon SX91 boots that have been rotting in his garage. The rear entry boot has now thankfully had its day but it seems that it can still be put to good use for those incapacitated with ankle ligament ruptures. For the next week it will be weatherman mat.
