I snowed twice here in the north west of blighty in one week …oh how I would of loved to get my children on an alpine peak …I guess you have to love the mountains to know the feeling. Obviously I am in the right company sending this !!
Hey Ben and to think that the winds on Friday at Axamer Lizum were off putting – thanks for the perspective – get over here soon, although I guess you would agree that the weather was not great for kids on Friday – check out the Axamer Lizum opening day weather report from Semmmel!
Would that be the same Semmel who has a pathological hatred of all weather cams ?…unless of course they are filming in a crowded tacky apres bar .
Yes, the very same. The video pretty much illustrated the weather conditions that day – huge winds. Luckily after a few runs me and flo went to the Sunnalm and had a beer until it was dark – classic descent, dark so you had to take of your goggles and so much wind blown snow that you could not even squint. It was a blind descent into Axamer Lizum. We managed to get down though. Tons of snow falling right now and set to continue all week and over the weekend, one of the best winter starts for many years over here in Innsbruck.
We actually had our first reviewer who wanted to opt of of the heli ski prize draw last week. She had experienced poor light and ice at Kuhtai on her second ski trip and was not overly positive about skiing. Hopefully a bit of spring skiing in an easy area will be enough to get her back on skis.
