ARINSAL SKIING
The skiing is Arinsal is located in one long and narrow valley, although for all intents and purposes and certainly for marketing purposes then the skiing is connected to Pal and is jointly marketed as Pal – Arinsal. The combined area is a decent size for skiers and boarders fairly new to the sport and the tree cover on the Pal side makes for some interesting skiing. On the Arinsal side then the terrain is limited to a long and fairly narrow, tree-less valley. It is also limited to beginner and intermediate terrain although there are some ok off-piste options either side of the valley, from the ridges along the valley. There is a large beginners ski area toward the base station at Compallempla whilst the rest of the terrain in Arinsal is ideal for improving beginners.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Interesting mix of high altitude and tree-lined skiing in shared area
We don`t like:
Winds can close the lift between Pal and Arinsal, terrain may be too small for better intermediates

ARINSAL SKI INFORMATION
The ski area over in the Pal sector that is linked from Arinsal by a cable car offers a bigger area and tree-cover. The lift maybe weather prone, with high winds often able to close the link, but the ski area is well worth exploring. The skiing along the ridges has the feel of the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser in Austria (Soll, Ellmau etc) or Meribel or Morzine in France, with undulating routes between the high points of the ski area. The skiing is more expansive in Pal than Arinsal and there are a few steeper runs, but again, the skiing is ideally suited to beginners and intermediates.
