EL TARTER SKI HOLIDAYS

El Tarter is one of the ski holiday resorts that accesses the Grandvalira ski region and has the advantage of ski pistes running back down into the resort, something that the neighbouring ski holiday resorts of Canillo and Encamp do not have. El Tarter is located closer to the centre of the Grandvalira ski region than Canillo and Encamp but as these resorts have little skiing are above them, then in reality El Tarter is on the edge of the Grandvalira ski region. El Tarter does however have a good deal of ski terrain above it and has good shared skiing with Soldeu. Beginner and intermediate skiing forms the majority of the terrain, whilst there is a large free-style area at the mid-station in El Tarter.

The resort of El Tarter has seen quite a bit of development over the years and whilst it is not overly attractive, it is a perfectly reasonable looking resort. The through road is however often heavy with traffic.
