Alpbach, Austria ski holiday resort guide. Alpbach is a wonderfully pretty ski holiday resort and together with Inneralpbach they access the Alpbach ski area.

ALPBACH THE RESORT
Whilst the location of Alpbach is impressive and the views beautiful, it is hard to make a case that they are far and away better then any other valley in Austria. Sure, Alpbach is built on a fairly steep mountainside and benefits from attractive winding streets that fall away toward the valley, whilst the views to the south are wonderful. However it is the immaculate village, the ornate and elaborate wooden buildings and the charming compact centre that sets Alpbach aside from many if not all villages in Austria. In the winter months with blue skies and banked snow, Alpbach can almost look un-naturally like the perfect alpine village creation.

ALPBACH RESORT INFORMATION
One downside of Alpbach is that the village is in fact detached from the skiing area. The closest access to the slopes in Alpbach are located some 170m below in the valley, since the ski area is located on the other side of the valley. The smaller village at Inneralpbach offers far better access to the slopes and has accommodation that is essentially ski-in, ski-out.
