ALPBACH SKIING
For intermediate skiers then Alpbach has a good deal to recommend it. There are ski areas with bigger ski terrain and with longer seasons, but Alpbach has a loyal following of skiers, many of whom are part of a generational pilgrimage to this attractive and very comfortable Austrian ski area and resort. To the south of the ski area are some bowls that can offer some off-piste skiing and there are one or two red pistes with steepish sections. That said the skiing tends to be leisurely and favour the intermediate. The numerous bars and huts that dot the mountains are indicative of the emphasis on leisurely cruising and afternoons spent on sunny terraces.

ALPBACH SKI INFORMATION
Reith im Alpbachtal is a ski area in its own right and although small is available on the shared ski pass. Further afield, Alpbach is included in the Kitzbuheler Alpen ski region that extends beyond Kitzbuhel and includes the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski area, Wildschonau and Westendorf. The area is vast and whilst Alpbach has no direct link access, the area offers superb variety for those wanting see more of the area than just Alpbach.
