ALPBACH SKI HOLIDAYS

Alpbach offers possibly the most beautiful alpine village in Austria. The village is a cluster of traditional wooden buildings on the hillside above the Alpbach Valley. In the winter when Alpbach is snow-bound it is immensely atmospheric and charming. Compared to some of the other notably beautiful ski resorts in Austria, Alpbach is one of the smaller and this tends to add to its charm. Something that has always counted against Alpbach is the separation between the resort village and the skiing, which takes place on the other side of the valley. An option is to stay in the small village of Inneralpbach which has superb access to the slopes and ski lifts. The village is small and attractive but does lack the atmosphere of Alpbach.

The scenery is attractive and the location imposing, but it is the wooden architecture, the small winding streets and the immaculate nature of Alpbach that sets it aside from very many other beautiful alpine villages.The skiing in Alpbach is ideal for intermediate skiers wanting a leisurely day on the mountain.
