ALTENMARKT APRÈS SKI
Apres ski in Altenmarkt is generally good but is not the ski boot mayhem of the nearby ski holiday resort of Flachau. Being one of the bigger and more significant towns in the region, Altenmarkt has a higher proportion of residents to visitors than say Zauchensee or Flachau. The atmosphere in Altenmarkt is lively and there are numerous bars and restaurants dotted throughout Altenmarkt. That said the locals don’t tend to dance till dawn in ski boots like they do in Flachau, the evening entertainment is more relaxed and in many ways more authentic.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
The locals in Altenmarkt help to create a good year round atmosphere
We don`t like:
You will see far more ski boot dancing at the nearby resorts of Flachau or Zauchensee

ALTENMARKT APRÈS SKI INFORMATION
The nearby ski holiday resort of Flachau is one of the best apres ski centres in the region. Action starts on the mountain and the giant plastic beer glass, located mid-piste is something of an indication of events after lifts close. Further down at the various base-stations, umbrella bars are on hand for the masses and there are also a number of bars that stay open later in the centre of Flachau. Taxis are on hand to shovel up the revellers and get them back to Altenmarkt, a few km’s down the valley.
