AU-SCHOPPERNAU FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
The Au-Schoppernau-Diedamskopf ski area has a dedicated kids ski area at the base station and offers some pretty gentle terrain higher up the mountain for beginner skiers and families. The ski area is also connected by gondola for download from mid station. The villages are very relaxed with plenty of walking trails although they do not have the extensive leisure facilities of some other Alpine resorts. The lack of large scale modern resort facilities in both Au and Schoppernau has enabled the resorts to keep a truly authentic resort look and atmosphere. Hotels in the resorts tend to be smaller scale but many offer shared childrens areas. Traffic at peak times in Bregenzerwald can be a drawback for families although this often bypasses the resorts.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Bregenzerwald is generally very good for families
We don`t like:
Less to do in the resorts than in many other more commercial ski holiday resorts

The Bregenzerwald gets more snow than any other ski region in Europe – simply the snow capital of Europe.
