AXAMER LIZUM FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

With almost all accommodation in Axamer Lizum offering slope-side access and a dedicated crèche / childrens’ learning area, Axamer Lizum is an OK option for families. The apres ski quickly fizzles out and the atmosphere soon becomes relaxed. There are a handful of restaurants to visit in the evening and they are all located close by in the compact resort. Axamer Lizum also has a flood lit and long toboggan track running from the car park right down to the village of Axams in the valley below. Downsides include the real lack of facilities outside of the accommodation in Axamer Lizum. There is essentially nothing in the way of leisure facilities away from the snow and a taxi or the toboggan bus is needed to access the facilities below in the valley.

AXAMER LIZUM FAMILY SKI INFORMATION

Other alternatives include locating in one of the villages below Axamer Lizum that access the skiing and the resort. The resort villages of Axams, Birgitz and Gotzens all have many more facilities, a better variety of entertainment and both Axams and Birgitz have small ski areas with lifts that operate when the snow in the valley is good. Mutters is another good option for families- the village is very attractive, has good facilities, numerous restaurants and has its own ski area which can be accessed from the Axamer Lizum ski area. A free ski bus runs from Mutters to Axamer Lizum throughout the day.
