BRIXEN FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

The skiing in Brixen is ideally suited to family ski holidays. The main kids ski area is located directly at the top of the Brixen gondola, allowing safe and comfortable access to the ski area for kids. For progressing kids, the Brixen ski area is ideal terrain with gentle pistes to progress into. But for the highest point in the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski area, the Hohe Salve, the ski pistes are tree-lined which makes for better visibility in times of poor weather. A significant local population ensures that leisure facilities in the village and the accommodation can be pretty impressive, whilst the atmosphere is not as touristy as some other ski holiday resorts in the region.

Ideal skiing area with a big kids area at the top of the Brixen ski lift. New by pass has cut down the traffic.

BRIXEN FAMILY SKI INFORMATION

Brixen is located on the main road between the Inn valley and Kitzbuhel (and onto Salzburg). Brixen has grown along the main road and the centre of Brixen used to see heavy traffic, especially on weekends. A new by pass road opened in 2008 which has substantially reduced the volume of traffic in Brixen. One aspect of Brixen that is not ideal for families is the fact that some of the accommodation is dislocated from the Brixen gondola. Ski buses are regular but essential from some of the outlying accommodation.
