BRIXEN THE RESORT

Brixen im Thale is one of the principal towns in the area and has an impressive location, occupying the central part of the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region and being close to both Westendorf and Kitzbuhel. Brixen can be accessed by road or rail and from the winter of 2008/09 Brixen is the central transit point of the lift linking the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser and Kitzbuhel ski regions. Brixen is a long town that stretches out along the valley road and railway, its centre is occupied as usual by a church with the Brixen ski lift close by. The fact that Brixen has a good number of locals means the village has an authentic feel to it.

BRIXEN RESORT INFORMATION

One of the negatives with Brixen is the drawn-out nature of the village. Brixen spreads out a good way along the main valley road and railway, the result is that Brixen is a long and narrow village. With the ski lifts that access the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region leaving from close to the centre of the village some of the more outlying accommodation can be a trek to the skiing. Ski buses are frequent but for those wanting ski-in, ski-out accommodation, Brixen does not always deliver this.
