FILZMOOS SKIING
The skiing in Filzmoos takes place on both sides of the gently sloping wooded valley and is well accessed from most parts of the ski holiday resort. Filzmoos has 2 main beginners areas with 2 lifts and a further 2 lifts leaving the ski holiday resort for the higher skiing above Filzmoos. All the skiing in Filzmoos takes place below the tree-line and is generally gentle and ideal for beginners and families. There are a few reds and one token black ski piste but Filzmoos is definitely not for advanced skiers or boarders, nor those looking to cover big distances. That said as part of the biggest ski region in Austria, both more challenging and endless terrain is on hand for those taking a ski holiday in Filzmoos.
THE GOOD, THE BAD

FILZMOOS SKI INFORMATION
The ski holiday resorts of Filzmoos, Flachau, Wagrain, St. Johann-Alpendorf, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Kleinarl and Eben together make up the Salzburger Sportwelt ski region. From Filzmoos 2 sizeable ski safaris are possible. One is via Zauchensee, with skiing into Flachauwinkl, Kleinarl, Wagrain and St Johann – Alpendorf. The other route is via Flachau and then on into Wagrain and beyond. Both routes offer the chance to cover impressive distances and both start just a short transfer from Filzmoos. The terrain is generally best for intermediates but there is far more advanced terrain on offer than in Filzmoos.
