FULPMES-SCHLICK THE RESORT

Fulpmes is the name of the village / ski holiday resort, whereas Schlick is the name of the ski area. Jointly named Fulpmes-Schlick the ski holiday resort or destination offers traditional Austrian village life and a resident population that adds to the atmosphere. The lift that accesses the Schlick ski area leaves from just above Fulpmes and ski buses run through the village. The distances are often short but there is a reasonably steep hill to the lift complex. There are numerous restaurants in Fulpmes-Schlick and a fair number of bars. The ski holiday resort of Fulpmes-Schlick is the usual smart Austrian standard but it is very working class and authentic rather than upmarket and based solely around tourism.

FULPMES-SCHLICK RESORT INFORMATION

Fulpmes-Schlick is almost equidistant between Neustift and Innsbruck. Innsbruck offers amenities that you would expect from a city of 120 000, with good shopping and nightlife as well. Neustift in the opposite direction is very much dominated by tourism and farming and is one of the biggest ski holiday resorts in the region. There are numerous bars and restaurants and regular buses between the resorts. Many who have skied the Stubai Glacier will stop off in Neustift, with a taxi back to Fulpmes-Schlick an easy option.

Fulpmes is a nice village, but also very quiet. There are some sport facilities, but also shops, restaurants and bars.

The Schlick is located at Fulpmes at the beginning of the Stubaital. Together with the Stubaier Glacier, you will sure get good snow in this region.
For some people the few minutes walking to the lift could be a problem, others will enjoy it and be already warmed before starting on skis.
