FULPMES-SCHLICK SKIING

The ski area at Fulpmes-Schlick is neither big nor challenging. There are a limited number of lifts and ski pistes and for better skiers and boarders then Fulpmes-Schlick is not an ideal option for more than a couple of days. That said there are easily reached ski areas that are connected by bus and the ski region in and around the Stubai Valley is well worth a visit. For skiers and snowboarders new to the sport and for families with kids then Fulpmes-Schlick makes a pretty good option. The terrain is ideal and is located in a large natural bowl with mountains forming a dramatic back-drop. The easy skiing all takes place on the valley floor, whilst from the top of the main Fulpmes-Schlick gondola there is an easy track that cuts across steeper terrain.

FULPMES-SCHLICK SKI INFORMATION

Off-piste skiing is possible in Fulpmes-Schlick and there are wide bowls that can be traversed into. Other alternatives are some tree sections down from the main gondola running back into the main ski area, although these areas require some local knowledge – obeying signs and using a guide is always advisable. Beyond the Fulpmes-Schlick ski area, the Stubai Glacier offers the most impressive skiing in the region. It has extensive ski terrain and an absolute snow guarantee for all but the peak summer months. Ski buses run from Fulpmes-Schlick to the Stubai Glacier.

Schlick is small resort which is well appropriate for skiers with all levels. For many freeriders Schlick is a insider-tip when there is fresh powder.

The Schlick is not big, but great. The locals from Innsbruck know that, because especially after fresh powder you can have great off-piste action and tree skiing there. They even have a natural terrain park. Ok the Schlick and Fulpmes alone are little small but together with the Stubaier Glacier and the other skilifts in the Stubaital, you can really have fun there.
