GOSAU THE RESORT

The ski holiday resort of Gosau is split into 3 sections that stretch along the valley as it climbs toward the Dachstein Mountains. The resort is low rise, very traditional in appearance and is well spread out along the valley. Cross-country skiing links the villages whilst a river runs the length of the valley. There is no easily identifiable centre of Gosau as there is in many other Austrian alpine villages that are centred around the church and the town / village hall, whilst much of the après ski action tends to locate around the valley ski lift stations. In terms of charm then the Gosau valley is hard to beat, it is very much a traditional and immaculate valley village.
