GOSAU SKIING

Tree-lined intermediate skiing rules in Gosau and the Dachstein West ski region. The Dachstein West skiing takes in several local villages and it is possible to ski between and into them. The Back-drop to the ski area are the mighty Dachstein Mountains and the local glaciers. Beginner ski areas are located around the valley lift stations whilst the terrain is ideal to progress into for early intermediates. Mountain huts are a big feature of the Gosau and Dachstein West ski area and they are dotted all over the ski area. For skiers and boarders looking for challenging off-piste then it is possible to stay in Gosau and visit the Krippenstein Freeride Arena, an area boasting serious off-piste terrain.

For beginners the area is great and for intermediates good. Advanced skiing is limited in the Dachstein West but the Krippenstein Freeride Arena just down the road and on the shared ski pass has some of the best off-piste in the Alps.
