HINTERTUX GLACIER SKI INFORMATION
The Hintertux Glacier offers possibly the most challenging skiing of all the glacier skiing areas in Austria. The ski pistes tend to be steeper than the other glacier skiing areas and there is far less than for the beginner than is offered on the other Austrian glaciers. With a top height of 3250m the snow is reliable and throughout the winter the snow quality can be excellent. High winds however can blow away new snow and make for a bracing day on the Hintertux Glacier. This however is also true of all such altitude ski areas. From the main arrival point on the Hintertux Glacier, the Sommerbergalm, the skiing separates into 2 main sectors, although the biggest area is located under the mighty Olperer peak.

HINTERTUX GLACIER SKI INFORMATION
The Hintertux Glacier is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski region that also takes in the Penken, Ahorn, Rastkogel, Horberg and Eggalm ski areas. These ski areas are lift and ski piste linked (but for the Ahorn ski area) and are served by the ski holiday resorts of Tux–Lanersbach, Finkenberg and Mayrhofen. The skiing in these regions is impressive in size and offers far more diversity than just the Hintertux Glacier. Tree lined ski pistes and a complete range of ski piste classifications are on offer, whilst the Hintertux Glacier, part of the Zillertal 3000 ski region offers a complete snow guarantee.
