IGLS SKIING
The skiing in Igls is neither extensive nor particularly challenging. That said it offers really interesting tree-lined ski pistes, sunny upper slopes and an attractive flat trail back into the village. The skiing begins around the base station of the main lift running out of Igls. This is the location of both the ski school and the main beginners ski area. There are some childrens ski activities here as well as an outdoor ice rink. The cable car runs up to the top of the tree-line. From there an old single chair reaches the top of the conical Patscherkofel for steep descents down the only tough run on the mountain or alternatively a long and winding track that offers superb views down the Stubai Valley. The track is flat although there are a few sections of off-piste there.

IGLS SKI INFORMATION
Beneath the main gondola station are the majority of the ski pistes and interesting reds and blues wind down through the forest with some impressive fall-lines. Views over Innsbruck are wonderful. The skiing in this area is generally easy and the pistes end around the location of the Olympic bob sled track. Crossing the road leads to a wooded and fairly flat track that runs back to the beginner area and the main cable car.
