ISCHGL FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
Despite its reputation for après ski, Ischgl is in fact a fairly high-end resort by Austrian standards and it is easy to possible to avoid the après ski mayhem. There are numerous large and impressive hotels in Ischgl that offer services and facilities that are geared toward children. One of the downsides for families is that Ischgl lacks communal facilities on the scale of say Kitzbuhel, (although Ischgl is a considerably smaller resort.) Most leisure facilities tend to be hotel based. Another downside are the ski runs back down to Ischgl. There are two principle routes that lead back to Ischgl from the main ski area. Both can be narrow and extremely congested during peak times. Alternatives include leaving slightly earlier or downloading on the lifts.

ISCHGL FAMILY SKI INFORMATION
Downloading is possible via one of three gondolas and at the Idalp, the mid-station area, there are extensive facilities including ski rack storage, ski school offices and restaurants. To avoid the mayhem many families store their skis here and download, meaning that the equipment is ready for them the following morning.
