KAPPL THE RESORT

The ski holiday resort of Kappl is located on the mountainside and out of the valley floor. This ensures that Kappl is away from the main traffic that flows through the valley and means that all traffic is in effect local traffic. Kappl is built on a hillside and whilst the main resort road is on one level the rest of the resort is built along terraces above or below the central area. The ski piste back to Kappl runs through many parts of Kappl, whilst the main gondola in the Kappl ski area leaves from the valley floor and therefore below the resort. The combination of these factors mean that a good amount of accommodation in Kappl is ski-in, ski-out. Ski buses run from Kappl to the other ski holiday resorts in the Paznaun valley.

Nice village and a steep slope. Not a huge selection of restaurants in village but we were half board so could not comment on them. Stunning church with graveyard lit by candles at night - beautiful. Thought the resort and mountain restaurants represented excellent value with a lunch for 5 (2 adults 3 kids) typically costing €35 with hot chocolates and beers for all.
