KAPRUN SKI HOLIDAYS

Ski holidays in Kaprun offer tremendous scenery, a local ski area and the snow-sure local glacier of the Kitzsteinhorn - Kaprun Glacier. Kaprun shares a ski pass with the neighbouring Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn Galcier. The skiing as such is diverse and snow-sure. The skiing at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is high and there is no village at the base station but it is easily accessed from Kaprun. The glacier is the principle glacier skiing area in the Salzburg region and is a great addition to the Kaprun ski area in terms of terrain and snow reliability. The Maiskogel ski area above Kaprun is accessed from the edge of the village with some accommodation there offering ski-in, ski-out accommodation and is generally intermediate terrain.

KAPRUN SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The village of Kaprun is a charming and relaxed village with low rise buildings centred around the main church. Ski buses run through the village to the main lift, with some slope-side accommodation. The centre of Kaprun has numerous shops, bars and restaurants and is lively rather than pulsating.

Great on the Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn Glacier for beginners and intermediates but very little challenging terrain. Off-piste is hampered by the crevassed glacier or the lower altitude of Kaprun or Zell am See ski areas.

A reasonable night out but some way behind Zell am See just down the road.
