KAUNERTAL GLACIER FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

The skiing on the Kaunertal Glacier is ideal for families, with wide and gentle pistes and generally very good snow. That is probably where the advantages for family ski holidays end. The drive to the Kaunertal Glacier from the nearest habitable village is long and winding. The Kaunertal Glacier can suffer from severe weather in the peak months and with no tree cover, can be extremely hard to navigate in poor weather. The facilities at the Kaunertal Glacier are basic compared to other resorts in the Alps. Basically there are far better options than dragging your kids up to the Kaunertal Glacier, despite the beauty and wild nature of the place.

KAUNERTAL GLACIER FAMILY SKI INFO

In the region the combined ski area of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis offers possibly the best family skiing option in Austria, maybe Europe. The skiing is ideal for families, the villages are relaxed and have child friendly accommodation and the ski schools all operate elaborate and impressive kids programmes.

Nothing really at the glacier but the resorts down the valley are fine for families.
