KAUNERTAL GLACIER THE RESORT

Essentially there is no resort at the Kaunertal Glacier. Access to the Kaunertal Glacier is via a controlled and staffed gate, there then follows a lengthy drive through really impressive wilderness and past a reservoir that serves the region. The closest town to the Kaunertal Glacier is Feichten, although Ried, Kauns and Prutz offer the option of accessing Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis as well as the Kaunertal Glacier. Ried, Kauns and Prutz villages are a reasonable size. At the Kaunertal Glacier itself, services and infrastructure are confined to car parks, ski service and rental shops as well as the lift stations.

KAUNERTAL GLACIER RESORT INFORMATION

There is essentially nothing at all at the Kaunertal Glacier for the guest other than the skiing resources and it is not possible to stay any closer to the Kaunertal Glacier than Feichten (and surroundings). Ried is one of the better options as it has good access to the ski holiday resorts of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis as well as Nauders, down the valley and on the border with Italy.

There is basically almost nothing at the glacier itself and nothing close by as it is a protected park, but down the Kaunertal valley there are some small attractive resorts to stay in.
