KAUNERTAL GLACIER SKIING
The Kaunertal Glacier offers snow-sure skiing and from autumn to late spring / early summer, the snow conditions can often be superb. As with almost all glaciers the skiing tends to be fairly gentle with wide ski pistes and long runs. The Kaunertal Glacier is no different and but for a couple of routes just coming down from the rocky faces of the mountains that border the glacier, there is little other than gentle and wide skiing on offer. Beyond the lower extent of the glacier, the skiing becomes more conventional with non-glacier skiing continuing along a couple of routes to the lowest point of the Kaunertal Glacier ski area and the site of the main chairlift back onto the Kaunertal Glacier. The interesting routes wind through rock and debris.

KAUNERTAL GLACIER SKI INFORMATION
The Kaunertal Glacier freestyle park has a loyal following amongst skiers and snowboarders. Compared to the flat, lumbering surface of the Kaunertal Glacier, the manmade jumps appear huge, jutting out to ice. The Kaunertal Glacier is also popular for ski carving given the wide and flat areas of the glacier. In the region, the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski region offers superb and extensive skiing and boarding, whilst Nauders has the option of skiing in the Italian side of the shared area.
