KITZBUHEL APRèS SKI

Après ski in Kitzbuhel is excellent with slope-side bars and pubs located in the heart of the medieval centre. The Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm ski race weekend sees excess on a grand scale as most of Austria descends on Kitzbuhel to pay homage to those who throw themselves down near vertical ice. The atmosphere is generally celebratory but things can get a little messy later into the night. That said, when a crowd the size of Glastonbury Festival choose to power drink on the side of the mountain, then things reamain impressively well organised and enjoyable. Outside of the race weekend then Kitzbuhel simply serves up great slope-side and town based apres ski. Being a large resort there are bars that offer more than David Hasselhof remixes.

Possibly the biggest party in the mountains - the apres race Hahnenkamm party is not always pretty but is often quite classic.

KITZBUHEL APRèS SKI INFO

There are numerous slope-side bars and hotel bars but the real atmosphere is in the heart of the medieval town of Kitzbuhel, with its many bars and restaurants. Revellers mix with fur coated window shoppers, for a variety of guest. Austria generally offers very good value for money and whilst Kitzbuhel is one of the more exclusive destinations, then eating and drinking (as well as accommodation) can be very reasonably priced.

Pricey , but it would be hard to beat the apres here as it isn't just the usual 1 or 2 hours! it can go on much longer into the night.

Brilliant apres ski, tried several venues and always had great fun and strangely always ended up staggering home afterwards.
