KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER FAMILY HOLIDAYS
The skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is ideal for families. The slopes are generally wide and gentle and the snow conditions are usually good throughout the winter. There are numerous facilities on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and it is accessed from the security of 2 gondolas. The ski area at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is also sufficiently big to allow the crowds to spread out. Not all is great though on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier for family ski holidays. The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier does not have any accommodation close by and a ski bus or private transport is required to access the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier from either Kaprun or Zell am See. In times of poor weather the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier can be also tough to navigate with no tree cover.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Ideal slopes for beginners and families and some good facilities on the glacier
We don`t like:
Ski bus required to access the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the weather can be harsh

KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER FAMILY SKI INFO
In the region both the Kaprun and Zell am See ski areas offer good options. The Maiskogel ski area on the edge of Kaprun is ideal for family ski holidays with easy access from Kaprun and almost all slopes being gentle. Tree cover means that in times of poor weather, the Maiskogel ski area can offer better visibility. The Zell am See ski area similarly offers tree cover for all but the very top section of the ski area. The lower slopes in the Zell am See ski area are the toughest in the entire area although families can download and avoid these more challenging pistes at the end of the day.
