Unfortunately we didn't have our promised balcony and skiing back to the apartment was not possible, but further all was well

The skiing in the main around Lech/Zurs is cruisy blues and reds. All very well sign posted. Lift system fantastic - vast majority heated seats and very friendly lift staff - always careful and courteous with the kids.

Although the vast majority of people are well healed, they are all friendly, and not stand offish at all.

Stayed in Oberlech which in my opinion is a better base for families - free creche, on slope and great toboggan run down to Lech. Have 3 kids (4 7 and 10) and the 4 year old was the only one in ski school. Was a wee bit disappointed that he was not taken up the hill, when most of the kids were. The ski instructor did not seem that interested. We did get our older 2 a private lesson during lunch - which is great value by the way! - and thought the instructor was excellent.

Hotel Krone and Pfefferkorn seem to be the places to go. The Burg hotel in Oberlech was pretty busy too. All very mild though in comparison with St Anton along the road.

The skiing is really great for intermediate skiers - lots of variety and the white ring circuit is also not too difficult for intermediates, even though part of it is a ski route rather than an actual pisted run. There is a really good cross country track aswell!

A really pretty resort - the only negative is that it does have a road running through it. Facilities are generally good, but there is not a leisure centre with pool etc. Prices are on the higher side for austria

Not wild apres ski, but good umbrella bars, hotel bars and on the piste there is also an ice bar!

I experienced great service and the odd smile !! atmosphere serene and genteel, the hotels were rumoured to be very pricey.

The combined Lech – Zurs and Arlberg ski area is rated as the best in Austria. It is superb for intermediates and fair for advanced skiers if you include the off-piste and the impressive snowfall record.

One of the most charming ski holiday resorts in the Alps. Lech am Arlberg is an absolute gem.

Ideal for families in the resort and on the slopes. Heavy traffic (albeit slow moving) through the resort is the only real downside.

Lech am Arlberg is upmarket and après ski is refined and slightly more pricey than other ski holiday resorts.
