LECH SKIING

Lech skiing is linked to and part of the vast Arlberg region. The region has amongst the best snow accumulation records in the whole of Austria and the ski area is both big and varied. The ski area of Lech-Zurs forms the natural ski area for guests staying in Lech although the Arlberg ski pass covers both St Anton and St Christoph. The Lech-Zurs ski area is dominated by intermediate terrain although there is some fantastic off-piste skiing and the nearby St Anton is on offer should steeps be required. Ski safaris are easily possible in to the Lech-Zurs ski area, including the ‘White Ring’ ski circuit. This can only be completed in one direction but for those staying in Lech it makes for a superb half day out.

LECH SKI INFORMATION

Whilst Lech has more tame terrain than St Anton it does offer some excellent off-piste areas and is one of the few areas in Austria where heli-skiing is permitted. Lower down toward Lech and around the height of Oberlech there are tree-lined cruising pistes. Higher there are open bowls that lie above the tree-line. The skiing in Zurs is all above the tree-line. Most of the skiing in the combined Lech-Zurs ski area favours the intermediate although ample beginner slopes are available. Access to accommodation from the slopes in Lech is good whilst in Zurs it is excellent.
