Not a vast area at all but nice runs and so so quite, both in the amount of people there, and the amazing muted silence when in amongst the trees!

MUTTERS SKIING

Mutters is very much a beginners and family ski area. The Mutters ski area is popular with locals taking kids for their first skiing experiences as well as becoming increasing popular with guests from out of the area. The new investment in Mutters has included an impressive new gondola and lift base station, as well as a new restaurant and kids play area on the mountain. The run back down to Mutters is ideal for families and beginners and is long and gentle. The Mutters ski area is connected to the Gotzens ski area with a lift that was opened at the start of 2008 and there are plans to lift link those 2 areas with Axamer Lizum.

MUTTERS SKI INFORMATION

Axamer Lizum offers the best intermediate ski and snowboard options in the region around Innsbruck and has excellent advanced skiing and off-piste. A ski bus is still required to access the skiing at Axamer Lizum from Mutters, but there are plans to link the areas for the 2009/10 winter season. The run back to Mutters from Axamer Lizum is superb with a real wilderness feel to it higher up and then it reaches a long traverse before entering the Mutters ski area. Other ski possibilities at Mutters include Schlick 2000 and the Stubai Glacier. Schlick 2000 can be reached using the Stubaitalbahn tram which runs between Fulpmes and Innsbruck.

I liked this resort as it was quite quiet on the day we were there. This was brilliant for me as i'm a beginner. The blue run doesn't go as far as Gotzens but i still enjoyed it alot.
