WILDSCHONAU FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

Generations of families return to Wildschonau each year. The area has seen a huge number of beginners from all over Europe learn to ski there. The slopes are gentle and compact. Additionally the ski pistes are nearly all below the tree-line which is ideal in poor weather conditions and good news for families not wanting to lose sight of their children. The main village for skiers and boarders is Niederau. The village boasts good access to the slopes from much of the accommodation there and the gentle pistes wind back down to the village for fairly simple returns to accommodation at the end of the day. Après ski in Wildschonau is jolly but not excessive and it is likely that many of the visitors to this region will know each other from previous years, such is the enduring appeal of Wildschonau.

WILDSCHONAU FAMILY SKI INFORMATION

The fact that the road which runs through Wildschonau goes little further than Auffach means that aside from Saturdays, then traffic through the Wildschonau villages tend to be fairly light and local. The resorts in the Wildschonau tend to be compact and much of the accommodation has a reasonable connection to the lifts and the resort amenities. The slopes are ideal for family ski holidays and the nightlife good but not over-powering.
