Niederau - Oberau, Austria skiing and snowboarding guide. The best beginner skiing is above Niederau. Niederau offers tree lined and easy skiing for beginners and lower intermediates.

WILDSCHONAU SKIING
The skiing in the Wildschonau ski region is characterised by beginner and intermediate slopes that have limited vertical and are mostly tree-lined. The ski area statistics in Wildschonau somewhat distort the actual ski terrain, giving advanced skiing a higher prominence than is the reality. The advanced pistes are relatively steep in places but these steeps are short and are not sufficiently challenging to merit advanced classification generally. The ski area above Niederau is possibly the most popular and consists of red and blue pistes and is almost all tree-lined. Oberau is the biggest village (being the administrative centre of Wildschonau) but has the most ski area in Wildschonau. There is a small beginners area just above the village but little else really.

WILDSCHONAU SKI INFORMATION
Of the three ski villages in Wildschonau, Auffach offers the biggest and highest ski area. It also has the more challenging terrain with ski pistes nearly all classified as red. Skiing around the Schatzberg peak is above the tree-line which is a rarity for the Wildschonau ski area.
