OBERGURGL SKI HOLIDAYS
Obergurgl, is one of the most snow-sure, non-glacial ski areas in Austria. The area is surrounded by glaciers and whilst the ski terrain resembles the wide, gentle runs of traditional glaciers, Obergurgl relies on conventional snow. Fortunately at a height of 1930m, with Hochgurgl some way above that, then snow is almost always plentiful throughout the winter months. There are 2 villages serving the Obergurgl ski area, Obergurgl itself located in the valley and Hochgurgl at mid mountain and slope-side. Obergurgl is by far the bigger with more facilities and accommodation available. Hochgurgl offers superb access to the slopes and lifts from its location at mid-mountain. The Obergurgl ski area is extensive and is perfect for intermediates.

The resorts are Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are both upmarket and stylish resorts but differ greatly in location. Obergurgl at 1930m down in the valley spreads out along the valley whilst Hochgurgl is situated on the mountainside at 2150m and has superb access to the lifts and ski pistes.
