OBERLECH SKI HOLIDAYS

If Lech is the most attractive and rounded resort in Austria, then Oberlech is its most wonderful aspect of the resort. Oberlech is located a couple of hundred of metres above Lech and is basically entirely ski-in, ski-out. To further out-do its formidable relative down in the valley, Oberlech has numerous hotels that exude style, quality and style. And finally, a cable link runs to the middle of Oberlech until after midnight for guests to sample what is on offer to the mere mortals staying in Lech down in the valley. The superb snow record of the Arlberg ensures that Oberlech is almost always drenched in snow. For those that can afford it and have the connections to ensure a reservation, then Oberlech is hard to beat anywhere.

  We like:
About as good is it gets in Austria, with slope-side access and superb accommodation.

  We don`t like:
Nothing to do in Oberlech after dark outside of the hotels. Accommodation can be scarce and expensive.

OBERLECH SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The ski holiday resort of Oberlech has superb access to the intermediate skiing of the Lech-Zurs ski area. Oberlech is entirely ski-in, ski-out and has an outstanding standard of accommodation and dining. Put simply, about as good as it gets in Austria, if not Europe. The skiing above and below Oberlech is best suited to intermediate skiers, with little for beginners or for the best skiers and boarders. That said, Lech / Oberlech is the only place in Austria to operate Heli-skiing and the powder slopes above Oberlech are legendary.
