OBERTAUERN FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
The ski terrain in Obertauern is ideal for the family ski holiday. The terrain is almost all classified blue or red and there is virtually nothing in the way of advanced skiing (on piste at least). Obertauern boasts good to the ski lifts from much of the accommodation. There are numerous ski lifts leaving Obertauern in a variety of locations. Similarly the ski pistes that run into the village tend to traverse sections of Obertauern meaning that much of the accommodation can be closely accessed at the end of the day.
THE GOOD, THE BAD

OBERTAUERN FAMILY SKI INFORMATION
Whilst the ski terrain and access to and from the skiing and lifts from much of the accommodation in Obertauern is impressive, the weather can be a factor that affects the family ski holiday. Obertauern skiing can be bleak in poor weather and with no skiing beneath the tree-line then navigation can be difficult. The high altitude and the exposed nature the Tauern pass (the location of Obertauern) can make for some windy and unforgiving conditions. Obertauern has an impressive sports centre and the impressive hotels in the village boast a good range of amenities.
