Easy to Navigate pistes. Mainly intermediate runs, but with some good off piste routes (although I noticed that later in the season on of the off piste runs had become pisted). G2, whilst not an exraorinarily challenging black run, is still a feather in the cap once completed. G2 is best skied first thing in the morning with fresh powder, 'Magic'. The Terraine park seems to be very small and limeited, and is situated at one end of the ski area. Hughe ammounts of snow, Oberatuern seems to be fortunate enough to get pleanty all season long.

Fairly average allround, Despite being purpose built it still has a little charm, Really only one main street which has most of the hotels/resturants/bars on. Sports centre just off the main street is a good facility, and offers a change of pace. Pricing is pretty average for Austria, everything is broadly inline with UK pricing, except alchahol which is cheaper than uk. Obertauern seems to run at a slower pace than the hyper resorts such as St Anton, I certainly found it very relaxing.

Took my children. Snow was still very good. They enjoyed the ski school enormously, and seemed to progress quite rapidly for the 3 days that they had tuition. Auystria generally tends in my opinion to suit families particularly well, and Obertauern with a wealth of on mountain huts and resturants made skiing easy and enjoyable. The Ski terrain in obertauern is easy to navigate, and encourages children to prgess and be adventurous in relative safety. The ski rentals shops were both professional and courtious, the equipment available to rent was excellent, latest equipment, with a variety of different manufactures & types available.

Not quite in the same league as St Anton/Ischgl etc. However there are sufficent resturants/bars/clubs to offer etertainment to those who feel the need, but without
comprimising the 'family' aspect of the resort. Without doubt the best bar is Nanu. Pricing is reasonable, doesn't seem to be any 'rip off' any where.

One of the top skiing resorts in Austria. No matter want you are looking for, you will probably find it at Obertauern. For intermediate and advanced skiers, the Tauernrunde represents a real challenge doing it all in one day. The off-piste fans should go to the Gamsleiten are.

Wellness, sports, Après-Ski or just a relaxing atmosphere for those who are looking for great holiday.

Try the Edelweisshütte or a Gamsmilch in the mountain station of the Zehnerkar.

Ein super Skigebiet für fortgeschrittene Skifahrer und Snowboarder. Die Liftanlagen sind immer auf den letzten Stand der Technik. Die Off-piste Möglichkeiten sind sehr fein und die berühmte Tauernrude bringt eine super Abfahrt nach der anderen.

Für Familien ist Obertauern gut geeignet. Fast alle Hotels sind direkt von der Skipiste zu erreichen, lästiges Skibus fahren entfällt und die Kinder können gleich direkt loslegen. Viele Skischulen bieten Kinderskikurse an.

Après ski in Obertauern ist sensationell. Super Hütten und Schirmbar´s sind im ganzen Resort verteilt und bei fast allen kann man mit den Ski bis zur Bar fahren :-)
