OBERTRAUN THE SKI HOLIDAY RESORT

With a lakeside setting, Obertraun has a relaxed feel about it. Obertraun is very pretty, is spacious but not huge and is surrounded on all sides by dramatic mountains. There is one direction that skiers an snowboarders visiting Obertraun will look toward and it is the Krippenstein Freeride Arena that is located on a plateau, high above Obertraun. The area is accessed by cable car from just outside of Obertraun and protected by a spectacular wall of rock that even skiers cannot directly descend. Obertraun is one of a few resorts that border the lake and the pace in the village is slow and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed.
