Ok….the Krippenstein Freeride Arena is incredible for off-piste skiing, snowboarders have some traverses before they reach the off-piste treasure and the terrain park is very natural and unusual. For the best skiers and snowboarders then the Krippenstein Freeride Arena is an absolute must. Intermediates have a good run back to Obertraun but nothing else and beginners some great views. Intermediates and beginners should commute to Dachstein West which is ideal for them.

Rustic and very authentic, Obertraun is no Kitzbuhel in terms of facilities but has a unique and fantastic charm

Family Holidays

Quiet and few cars but also few facilities. For families wanting a real piece of Austrian mountain life then Obertraun is ideal. The Dachstein West ski area offers great family skiing just down the road.

Apres ski

Conversations with real alpinists rather than dancing with strangers, if you need umbrella bars then they are available at Gosau and the Dachstein West ski region
