The Pitztaler Glacier has become more and more popular in the past years. It can be easily reached and even after heavy snowfall, the streets should be free. A big advantage for the "Pitztaler" compared to its neighbour, the Kaunertaler Glacier. But especially on weekends in the early season the Pitzaler can be very crowded and maybe you have to wait for a while before accessing it by the Pitz Panorama Bahn. The Wildspitze ist one of the highest mountains of Austria and is an amazing skitour, which starts on this glacier.

The Pitztal Glacier starts at the end of the Pitztal and all the hotels are spread over the Pitztal.

This is one of the better glaciers. On clear days you have a beautiful view from the top of the glacier.

The lift system has been improved and the Pitztal Glacier offers the highest skiing in Austria at over 3400m. Little for advanced skiers but great ski touring possible from the Pitztal Glacier.

Fairly ok resort around the base station and probably better than the other glacier ski areas in Austria.

Not bad option for families but bad weather can affect the Pitztal Glacier.

Many visit the Pitztal Glacier for the day from resorts down the Pitztal Valley so any après ski soon dies down.
