SAALBACH THE RESORT

The ski holiday resort of Saalbach is located in the valley between the villages of Hinterglemm and Vorderglemm. Saalbach is an attractive alpine village that has seen a good deal of commercialisation with endless bars and restaurants. That said Saalbach in keeping with almost all Austrian alpine villages offers attractive buildings clustered around the church and village centre. The centre of Saalbach is pedestrianised and there is good access to the ski lifts that run out of the village centre to the separate ski areas of Bernkogel, Kohlmaiskopf and the Schattberg.

SAALBACH RESORT INFORMATION

Whilst Saalbach is certainly a party village with impressive apres ski, there is still a style and quality about the resort. Guests may dance till dawn but there is quite a bit of cash flowing around and some smart accommodation in the central areas of Saalbach. Saalbach is certainly not ski-in, ski-out but it has both good access to and from the ski lifts and ski pistes from much of the ski holiday resort.

Big, lively resort, but still has village atmosphere, and doesn't feel like some of the purpose built resorts.
