SAALBACH SKIING

Saalbach is located centrally within the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang Ski Circus area and as such offers a good choice of skiing options. The Ski Circus offers over 200km of ski pistes and covers an extensive area. Much of the skiing is suited to beginners or intermediate skiers and lifts leave Saalbach on both sides of the valley. Beginner skiing and ski lifts are located close to the village down in the valley, whilst further up the mountain above Saalbach there are numerous tree-lined red and blue ski pistes. Skiing is mostly within the tree-line and which is ideal for bad weather conditions. Hinterglemm offers possibly the steeper skiing in the Saalbach - Hinterglemm ski region.

SAALBACH SKI INFORMATION

It is possible for good skiers to do a circuit of the ‘Ski Circus’ in a day, a route that takes in the ski holiday resorts of Leogang, Hinterglemm and Vorderglemm. Check locally before setting out, as the route can only be made in one direction and ski buses back might be required for fatigued or stranded skiers and boarders. Some also stop off for a quick refresher and find themselves dancing in a village other than Saalbach since there are tempting ski huts all over the Saalbach - Hinterglemm - Leogang ski region.

Big resort, and linked by the ski-circus to Hinterglemm. Plenty of variety for all levels of skier/boarders.
