All really reasonable, attended the resort with BUSC. Accomodation was better than expected and as the whole resort was basically taken over by students it was an awesome vibe!

SAALBACH SKI HOLIDAYS

Saalbach offers ski holidays in a village that parties late into the night and that access the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang Ski Circus, with over 200km of ski pistes. Saalbach is one of the most popular ski resorts in the region south of Salzburg and a wide variety of nationalities are drawn to the area because of the extensive and intermediate ski area, the pretty villages and the award winning apres ski. The village in jointly marketed with the neighbouring Hinterglemm and whilst these are two separate villages, they have effectively merged to become one sprawling area at the end to the valley. The ski area boasts an impressive lift system and terrain that allows ski safaris into the neighbouring villages of Leogang and Hinterglemm.

SAALBACH SKI HOLIDAY INFO

Saalbach is part of the ‘Ski Circus’ and includes the ski areas above Leogang and Hinterglemm. Most of the ski terrain is tree-lined and suited to intermediate skiers and boarders. It is easily possible to ski into the 3 areas in a day although bus times need to be watched for those not wanting to make the return to Saalbach on the pistes. Aores ski in Saalbach is some of the best in the Alps and has even been honoured with awards, according to its tourist board. The village is pretty but the music and lights from the numerous bars do much to change the atmosphere. The theme is fairly simple - unclip from skis or board, stop for one or two and wake the next morning with ski pass strangulation.

Found the T Bar lifts were often too longer journey for some runs - chairlift would have been better.

Despite being at the end of season, a huge powder dump over 48 hours boosted the slopes to get in those final runs of the day. Beautiful sunshine too - even got a tan!

Alcohol not so cheap but a day of non stop boarding you soon got drunk... atmosphere was amazing due to the BUSC event and also friendliness of resort staff!
