SCHEFFAU FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

Scheffau is distant from the main road that runs through the valley and connects the resorts that are in the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski area. This seclusion as well as the general relaxed atmosphere in Scheffau make for a good feeling in and around the resort. The skiing above Scheffau and in the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region in general are good for families. The skiing is mostly intermediate or below and almost all the slopes are below the tree-line. The ability to ski-out of Scheffau to the lifts is another positive.

SCHEFFAU FAMILY SKI INFORMATION

Drawbacks to family holidays include the lack of resort amenities outside of the hotels and accommodation and the fact a ski bus is sometimes required at the end of the day to get guests back to Scheffau from the base station at Blaiken. During the winter when the snow is complete then a mechanised drag is used to tow visitors back up the ski piste from the base station, back into the ski holiday resort of Scheffau.

Scheffau is brilliant for kids, especially the ski school. This is based at the top of the mountain so you don't have to keep skiing down to see how your angels are getting on. Brilliant instruction is provided for all abilities and they cater for several different languages. They take children as young as 4 and have a very good set up for them with lots of fun provided while learning.

Scheffau is very relaxed and good for families although it is not as big as Ellmau just down the valley.
