Scheffau links up with all the neighbouring villiages by good access of cable cars, chair lifts and some T Bars. There are so many options of runs for intermediates that it would not be possible to enjoy them all in one week. Lots of bars and restuarants nestle among the mountains so you can easily find somewhere to stop and grab a bite to eat and drink while soaking up the views.

SCHEFFAU SKIING

Scheffau is one of the best located ski areas within the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region. It has two good gondolas that access the ski area. The ski area is one of the most central in the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser area meaning that ski safaris to the outer limits of the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser are easily possible. Trips by ski or board to further destinations such as Westendorf and Kitzbuhel are also possible from Scheffau, especially with the arrival of the Brixen – Westendorf lift in 2009. Most of the skiing in the Scheffau ski area is intermediate, just as with the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser region as a whole. That said, the most challenging terrain in the whole Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser region, the area from the Hohe Salve down is readily accessed from Scheffau.

SCHEFFAU SKI INFORMATION

Whilst Scheffau has the excellent attribute of ski-out access it lacks a conventional ski-in option. The location of Scheffau on the other side of the main road means access to the skiing above Scheffau is via the double lifts at Blaiken. This area can be accessed from ski runs running out of Scheffau. Unfortunately the only way back up to Scheffau from Blaiken is with a ski bus, although in good snow conditions there is a pisten bully type drag back up the slopes from the Scheffau base station, back to the resort.

Scheffau is good for beginners and excellent for intermediates with a massive ski infrastructure. Advanced skiing at Scheffau is some of the best in the ski area.
