The Planai (the name of the slalom world cup course) is one of the main events in the season. A great atmosphere, as it is a night race with amazing party besides the main event. Every good skier will find great slopes in this resorts and also intermediate and beginners will be more than satisfied. Schladming also offers some really cool mountain huts, like "Onkel Willis Hütte" with typical atmosphere and good food.

Steep and icy section back to the Schladming base station makes it not an ideal exit point for beginners. The rest of the area is ideal for beginners and intermediates.

Schladming is a working town and not as quaint as some ski holiday resorts in Austria, it is though more authentic with a good atmosphere.

Good facilities in Schladming for families and the entire ski area is below the tree-line. There is little slope-side accommodation though.

Great at the base station but then spreads out into Schladming and becomes a more conventional night out.
