SCHLADMING SKIING
Schladming is part of the Dachstein-Tauern ski area and also the larger Ski Amade ski region. The skiing in Schladming tends to favour the beginner or intermediate but the Planai ski area above Schladming offers some pretty steep skiing as well on the FIS downhill ski race piste. Despite the fact that Schladming hosted in the past what was the fastest average speed for any mens downhill race, the pistes in Schladming are generally suited to intermediates wanting tree-lined cruisers. Skiing also takes place above the neighbouring resorts of Rohrmoos and Haus, again offering intermediate cruisers through the trees. These areas have over recent years been lift-linked with Schladming and offer a good area to explore.

SCHLADMING SKI INFORMATION
The connected ski areas offer a good deal of terrain to explore but really tend to serve up the same type of skiing. And whilst the skiing in and around Schladming reaches a pretty low altitude the area is fortunate for having a good snow record, extensive artificial snow and crucially, north facing slopes which tend to hold the snow better although the steepest and lower sections can be prone to ice. The nearby Dachstein Glacier offers excellent snow reliability and quality and is a great back-up for this popular region when temperatures rise.
